Marcus, Kyra, Carter, Skylar

This is how I decorated the backyard for our trick or treaters!  I had spooky sounds and music playing on my laptop.

Tobi Cooks Schnitzel and Spaetzle

Tobi has been wanting to cook dinner for us ever since he arrived.  We went to the grocery store together and purchased all of the items we needed, and he walked me through how to make schnitzel and spaetzle.  We have never had this meal before, so we were all very anxious to try Tobi's favorite food to eat in Germany.

When he arrived, he gave us all gifts.  My gift was a spaetzle maker, and this was my chance to learn how to use it! This picture shows Tobi making the spaetzle with the gift from his mother.  It's a pancake-type batter that needs to be poured onto a slotted tool (kind of like a cheese grater).  The batter drops into a boiling pot of water and makes small dumplings.

Tobi's Schnitzel
6 thin pork cutlets
Seasoned breadcrumbs
Milk & Eggs
Oil for frying

1. Pound the pork cutlets until 1/2 inch thick.
2. Dip in milk & egg mixture.
3. Coat with seasoned breadcrumbs.
4. Fry in oil until golden brown.

At The Ballet

Tom and I had our date night at the ballet.  This was the last performance to ever be seen on the stage at the Capitol Theater in Davenport, we were honored to attend.  The ballet was based on a book which was written by Tom's boss at work, Mike Romke.

Steve and Tobi Prepare For Football Game - Toga!

This week's theme for the football game was "Toga," so Tobi wanted to participate.  We went to Walmart and bought a twin bed sheet and watched YouTube videos on how to make a sheet into a toga.  After many times practicing, we figured it out!  This is the boys just before they left for the game!  It was going to be cold at the game, so Tobi decided to wear warm clothes under the toga, it was still stylish!

Tobi went to the game with Kaitlyn, and they found me during to get a picture of them together!

Football Game - Blackout

This week's theme for the football game is "Blackout," so the boys bought some black face paint in the Halloween section at Walmart and got creative.  Max came over to help get ready, and this picture was taken just before they left for the game!
